The Problem with Poor People
Here's the problem with poor people, and I'm sure most of you are already aware: They're scared and stupid. They really are. So, why do we allow these people to vote? We all know they tend to vote against their own interests. They're too stupid to know better.
Now, I love the poor people, stupidity notwithstanding. I'm aware that these people are unable to develop worthwhile cognitions and whatnot -- We all know that. This is not a criticism so much as it is an observation. Nevertheless, if we allow these individuals to vote for things that we all know doesn't benefit them, they will only suffer more.
We have to save them from themselves. Like a toddler walking toward the flame, it is too risky to allow them to progress without proper guidance. They should not be able to vote, and it’s absurd that we continue to allow them to destroy themselves with poor voting habits.
Again, we all love toddlers and want what's best for them. But we still recognize that they do not have the mental faculties to form rational opinions. We recognize that their decision making capabilities are subpar at best. If they had the capacity to make sound decisions, then they wouldn’t be poor. With this in mind, it’s downright baffling that we continue let them partake in our, now, crumbling democracy.
I hate comparing the poors to toddlers. It comes off as disrespectful and arrogant. However, we have all seen, time and time before, these silly little things vote for who they shouldn't vote for. They vote for clowns whose existence is to scam the less fortunate. How much is too much, I ask you. How much is too much?
The word deplorable is a strong word. Personally, I believe in a world where we won't attach that label to the less fortunate. I believe in a world where we can divorce those syllables from the poor people. Still, their problematic behavior can only be described as that: deplorable. They are a wrench in the gears of a much larger machine. But I also believe that, with the right guidance, they might can be reformed into decent thinking individuals who are fully aware of their role in this grand mechanism that we call life.
If you care about them as much as you say you do, are you willing to take the next step? Are you willing to save them from themselves?
